Briefing: Light of Hope + The End (reupload)
Before KHUX shut down, I once had an idea for a kingdom hearts fic that focused on some of the movies that weren’t in kingdom hearts and it would take place concurrently with Khux’s plot. I was reminded about it and decided to revitalize it a bit.
I've got so many ideas I'm just reposting as I find them on pillowfort. It was image heavy but I didn't bother reposting the images...
The KHUX plot would star two keyblade wielders, one a native of daybreak town and the other from the islands before xehanort, Lune and Stella.
On the one hand, it would be kind of neat to finish it. But on the other hand I have no clue how I’d write out all of the keyblade lore from that era because I kind of… never finished KHUX before the shut down and watching a cutscene compilation doesn’t really inspire me.
on the other hand, the secondary plot involves the titular light of hope, being searched for by three characters: Mulch and Rune (who then move on to become important for one of my FF14 stories), who both were searching for it for different reasons. Mulch because *he was told it would help them find their missing sister, Emi, by Ava, and Rune, who thought finding it would equal a big amount of Lux and therefore he’d make friends from it.
*Keynote on Mulch is that they were raised by moogles and Viera have an interesting thing on gender so they dress up as a boy and girl but mostly present as a boy.
I completely forgot I use the name Emi for my pokemon fic later on. Total coincidence. She’s sadly more of a plot device than a character which is why the major plot was gonna focus on the two girls.
Anyways, list of properties I was gonna use.

Maplestory (for reasons I’ll explain when they revisit)
Live a Live (medieval period, but with Alicia’s mother)

So mostly prequel based stuff! I would’ve had prequel Star Wars here too but I decided against that. (But I still need a 13th world.)
Some were revisited, others weren’t, the MapleStory one is like the big one pivotal to the plot and it hinges on me spoiling MapleStory’s plot (which I have my own gripes on but I won’t talk about it.) So in the first visit, Mulch and Rune both meet this man who is researching into something called “the ultimate light” and he’s known as the white mage. Benevolent person, great crew, facilities, and a single mercenary following alongside a kid who are like “this is sketchy but we’ll see where this goes”, sort of paralleling Mulch and Rune. There’s an increase of dark monsters, and wherever the darkness goes, Emi tends to appear solely to destroy the heartless. Her old life was destroyed by them, so all she wants to do is destroy them in turn.
The revisit happens, and things go horrifically wrong as the white mage unleashes the ultimate darkness concluding that the ultimate light can only be found in the ultimate darkness.
And this is also the part where things also go wrong KHUX side of things, as the ultimate light can only be found in ultimate darkness, which means that the only way to do so would be with the keyblade war—to summon kingdom hearts.
Also people who have too much greed for light turn into darklings so Emi became one because of being driven by vengeance and Rune had to kill her and there’s no time to process that, the war.
As these two were not dandelions, in the end, despite surviving, they were left out of the equation to go to a new world. I wrote the ending first, where they get to see Stella go with the others, and they were left behind. They then proceed to traverse other worlds until they end up in FF14 for my one verse reliant on them, but with different designs (I won’t post them here, in a separate post.)
You can tell the part where I started losing interest, and that’s when I needed to engage with canon, which I never actually finished. I’ll likely post the ending segment because that’s done.
