I didn't really sort these out when I grouped them together and I kinda just copy pasted into word without a worry for format. oops. Goes over my earlier intro and the verses I was writing. (though, the NPCverse was the one I made a blog for.) There are 8 sessions of this so there's quite a lot to work through now... I'll probably combine a few to keep space.
Reposting all of these makes me want to work on FF14 again...
Going for a sort of basic breakdown on my other verses because if I don’t get it done the minute I have the time to do an idea it just doesn’t get done (it’s my worst habit.)
Part Time NPCs: Essentially the main universe and what I work with in terms of in game RP and central focus (this blog and neocities website (which I still haven’t worked on)), stars the ensemble cast of 8 characters I’ve made up. Technically no one here is the warrior of light and they’re all sort of average adventurish types so they could be feasible within XIV canon as NPCs.
WOLverse: Similar to the above except that Sage and Pepper are considered the warriors of light and everyone else are respective companions and party members to them. Probably will have less focus considering that I need to write out my interpretation of MSQ events in fanfic format and I haven’t even come close to starting anything substantial enough to be posted.
Isekaiverse: Similar to the above WOL verse except the person who’s been sent to XIV (AU Rene) is woefully incompetent and has an immensely poor memory as to when events happen. Is the one that started off as a shitpost idea and also features kingdom hearts OCs.
I don’t have anything else aside from one shot ideas and concepts. I’ll admit that I’m a slow writer when it comes to fanfic, so it’s definitely something I need to keep in mind.

· What other miscellaneous facts can I think about currently…?
M’ari used to be a pirate… I might have said that one. He wasn’t a good one though, he was just there to be a cook.
Beet grew up in a merchant family but ran away to Eorzea and was wandering around.
Sage wishes she could be an adventurer more than a commissioner for armor, which is why she insists on hearing stories of how her client’s armors broke, she’s projecting.
Bon’s a clone. But he has someone else’s memories. He wasn’t actually supposed to leave his assigned spot but when he woke up and no one else was there he left.
Pen dyes his hair yellow. It’s actually green.
Lily is selectively mute. She can speak, but usually tends not to.
Pepper used to be a wandering paladin before switching over to be a mage. It’s why people tend to not recognize him because the fighting styles are so different.
Rene wears contacts, his eyes aren’t actually yellow. They’re red.
I’ve considered making the part timers do the postmoogle quests for the hat so I can make them a mail delivery service so the rest of them can have a job outside of disciple works. (That would involve me getting the rest of them through ARR… having alts in this game is an easy way for me to get burnout.)
🖊️
I haven’t gone greatly in depth, but sometimes I write stories and one shots featuring Pepper as a 1.0 WOL. He doesn’t really get to do much of the storyline before the calamity hits, he’s mostly just doing city state activities. These days though, he’s more of a regular adventurer and sometimes a mercenary for hire.
Original Introductions
Name: Sage Valentin (Alias Neige)
Origin: Unknown
Occupation: Warrior of Light! If not that, then just your average every day adventurer.
In Character Jobs: Armorer, Blacksmith, Warrior and Dark Knight (WOL verse only)
Description: A happy go lucky Keeper of the Moon, sibling to Pepper Valentin. It makes no sense, but they were apparently split between both traits incredibly even. She doesn’t question it because she’s too busy trying out this entire adventuring thing. Her desire to help people out overrides her common sense sometimes, which makes her kindness seem like naivety and energeticness sometimes dial to the point of being annoying.
Alternate Muse: Starlight Voyagers (Shares the WOL role with Pepper)
Name: Pepper Valentin (Alias Page)
Origin: Mind your business!
Occupation: Odd job keeper
In Character Jobs: Weaver, botanist, Tharmaturge
Description:
A seemingly sketchy mage who decided he wasn’t cut out for adventuring and decided to stick to only doing leves. A massive slacker through and through, much to the shock of people who might’ve known him before the Calamity where he was the opposite in personality as a spirited free paladin type. Also twins with Sage Valentin, but it’s such a bizarre detail for a Miqo'te and Hyur to have seemingly split traits that decently.
Alternate Muse: Rising and Falling Star (1.0 Version)
Name: M'ari Tia (Alias: M'irra Albens)
Origin: Limsa Lominsa
Occupation: Fisherman, Adventurer
In Character Jobs: Fisher, Culinarian, Arcanist, Scholar (WOL Verse Only)
Previous pirate criminal M'ari Tia would’ve continued his life of wickedness, possibly even becoming an enemy to heroic adventure types if not for finding the two twins hiding on a ship that was being looted (their mother nowhere to be found.) Aiming to give them a better life than the one he was living he quit all his criminal activities and turned over a new leaf. Which worked surprisingly well until his children decided to both become adventurers. Gaining a sense of loneliness he decided to also become an adventurer, but mostly uses his newfound fighting abilities to go fishing. He has his priorities straight, one would suppose.
Name: Lily Etoile
Origin: Sharlayan
Occupation: Aether Researcher, Monk, Triple Triad Enthusiast
In Character Jobs: Monk
A Sharlayan scholar aiming to fill out her thesis on Aether by studying in Eorzea. In actuality, she’s using the days off to learn triple triad. Joking, joking. It’s just that most of her work involves listening to rumor mills at this point since her normal sources stopped answering.
Name: Bon
Origin: Unknown
Occupation: Whatever keeps him interested
In Character Jobs: Conjurer, Leatherworker, White Mage( WOL verse only)
Description: A man with absolutely zero background, not even having a name, one day wandered into one of the shrouds. A man who, after being given a purpose as a conjurer, is still immensely curious on the world and the nature of life. Well, if he would stop being bored and distracted by nearly everything, he could one day find that meaning and answer “that man” he sees in his dreams.
Name: Beet (Just Beet. Nothing else!)
In Character Jobs: Lancer, Conjurer, Archer, Ninja (WOL verse Only), Alchemist
Origin: Unknown (Her family moved around often)
Occupation: Explorer, Merchant
Description: Born into a merchant family and leaving out of disgust for their scamming capabilities, Beet aims to sell properly to people while improving her skills as an alchemist. Easygoing and good natured, but also sometimes has hypotethicals and daydreams that are incredibly weird.
Name: Rene
Origin: Gridania (He’s actually from Ishgard, but he’ll never say.)
Occupation: Twin Adder, Mercenary, Gold Saucer Layabout
In Character Jobs: Bard, Carpenter, Rogue, Blue Mage, Astrologian (WOL verse Only) and possibly more when I unlock more
Description:
One day Rene showed up in Gridania looking for odd jobs. Working his way through the eyes of a people who wouldn’t accept him for being an outsider, he’s seemingly polite and mild mannered. Minus the times when he’s seen in the Gold Saucer, in which he has a bizarre transformation to be the goofiest man possible. The gambling atmosphere can be addressed as a factor, but if any of his coworkers spotted him he might just faint of embarrassment.
Name: Rin Pendragon
Origin: Ishgard (He claims…)
Occupation: Chivalrous Knight (?)
In Character Jobs: Paladin, Machinist (WOL verse only)
Description:
In ancient times, there once was a group of noble knights. This has absolutely nothing to do with this person, but him being raised on these kinds of stories has led to him wanting to become one so he wanders around spreading the word of knighthood and in general getting into immense trouble by accidentally helping out the wrong types of people. It’s a powderkeg of naivety and in general, he fumbles his way into good as much as he fumbles his way out of evil. There’s also this random lalafell in the next photo here, but they aren’t related. Honest!
🌽: How does this OC feel about acts of affection? What's their favourite act of affection, physical or emotional?
·
Alright, if I recall correctly, there are multiple types of affection but I don’t recall them off the top of my head so I’ll probably look that up.
Those who favor receiving physical acts:
Pepper, since he’s sort of physically lazy
M’ari, since he’s always working with objects
Beet, since she’s always working with objects but can’t reach them half of the time
Bon, since he’s very touch starved.
Those who favor receiving emotional acts:
Pen, Rene, Sage and Lily
All of them kind of range from too emotive or not emotive enough.
(Turns out I was thinking about the five love languages.)
Gift Giving… Quality Time, Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service.
I think I did the physical one already so let me go for the other four.
Pen and Beet like any gifts that are given to them because it shows that the person valued them (unless they find that it’s cheap.)
Sage, M’ari, Lily, and Pepper all enjoy quality time with a person that is interested in doing their favored activities
Words of Affirmation would be like…. Praise, right? Bon and Rene would enjoy those the most, since they were usually reprimanded in the past.
18. What would be the best thing to ever happen to you?
Beet:
You know, I’ve always wondered what qualifies as the best thing for other people. Probably something like pay, or attention, or something else that gives a brief moment of happiness. But I think for me, the best moments happen when people come to me and my medicine actually works. Seeing their happiness makes me happy!
M'ari:
I’m a simple man. Above all, the best thing that can happen to me is my children being able to grow happy and healthy. Otherwise, the second best thing would be getting a big catch!
Pepper:
As a great magician (blatant lies), the best thing that would happen to me is an epic battle between a great sorcerer type in which I get to use my awesome abilities and everyone will be super impressed. Honest!
Sage: As an adventurer, there’s a lot of things I want. But the best thing I can think of is seeing those that I’ve lost once again. Even if it’s for a brief moment.
Bon:
What’s a best thing? Honestly, there are so many phrases I still don’t know or recognize… ah, it’s something that would be better than a good thing?
…In that case. My best thing would be surpassing my creator!
Lily:
Honestly, I’m not even sure what the best thing to happen to me would be anymore. It was likely going to be finishing my aether thesis, but everything I learn here keeps making me push it back…
Rene: As a former adventurer, there’s a lot of things I wanted. I wanted recognition. Wanted to be stronger. Wanted to find out what happened to some of my family. But since I’m also a realist, I can’t have any of those things, so the second best thing would be getting a pay raise.
Which in all honesty sounds terrible and inherently selfish, but I seriously have considered quitting this job and going back to being a full time adventurer.
Pen: As a knight, the best thing to ever happen to me would be to continue doing good in this world and spreading the good ideals! I don’t need a best thing to happen to me, aside from meeting the previous knight who sent me on this journey!
(To be honest….I’d really like a pay raise as well…)
Does your OC celebrate their birthday? Do they have a tradition for the celebration like a certain cake flavor or place to party? If they don’t, why not?
Sage and pepper will celebrate their birthday and by god they will be annoying about it but like endearingly where they’re extra nice to people and explaining it by saying it’s their birthdays Rene doesn’t remember his so he has to eventually tell everyone he knows bon doesn’t have one and he doesn’t get the hype I think Bon and Rene will eventually just get a joint birthday party so they don’t have to deal with the awkwardness of everyone they know having bdays but them
Have any of your OCs raised an animal or creature from birth?
pepper's chocobo named winter he bought the egg from a merchant and raised it like while he went on adventures then the calamity hit and he forgot about her but she basically wandered the country until she found him again
Does your OC consciously plan their day? Or do they just take it as it comes?
I’m going to say that the ones that have stable jobs (Rene, Lily, M'ari, Beet) all tend to hover about with the same schedule. Monotony sort of comes with having a job pattern and more or less they’ve settled into taking the same day of work. Outside of work days though they’re pretty happy to be doing whatever on a whim.
For the ones who are primarily adventurers (Sage, Pepper, Bon, Pen), they take every day as a new day, no plans outside of getting invited to events and mostly live on a whim as is. Going wherever their heart deems or where their feet takes them.
Is your OC a leader, a follower, or neither?
Sage is definitely the leader type and pepper follows after her because she has natural leader charisma Rene wants to be a follower so bad. but when push comes to shove he ends up leading the hardest part is probably Sage being more reckless than anything she gets extreme tunnel vision and doesn’t consider others while Rene is too busy second guessing himself Pepper is too lazy himself to ever lead
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Thank you for asking!
It’s gonna be a bit of a long one.
M'ari is an early to rise and early to sleep sort of fellow because he has to rise to hear the birds sing and the fish swim before he goes ahead on his fishing trips which usually take up the entire day, then he heads to his nightly cooking classes and goes to sleep. Not much has changed his schedule outside of becoming stressed when he hears what his daughter gets up to through the rumor mills.
Rene always wakes up punctually around something like 7 am so he can do his daily prayers, eat breakfast, take a shower, and read the newspaper before doing his daily patrols as a Twin Adder. So he has a very boring daily schedule, which entirely changes on the weekends in which case he has a bizarre change in personality due to frequenting the Gold Saucer. None of his co-workers have caught him that other way yet and he does not want to try and explain it either. At night time, he sometimes wanders in the forest to try and play music, but usually ends up just talking to himself and practicing archery.
Bon wakes up whenever he pleases without an alarm and then proceeds to wander for the rest of the day, helping people with their problems and then proceeding to go back to sleep presumably in the middle of nowhere. Unless he gets woken up by someone who needs something, which happens more often then you’d think.
Pen spends his mornings practicing swordplay, feeding his chocobo, and generally going up to people and asking if they need help with anything. Unfortunately, he’s sort of a naive type so he ends up usually just doing people’s work for them instead of doing exciting things like he would expect a knight to do. At night time, he works at his side job as a goldsmith crafting for merchants and wondering if he’ll ever be able to afford the items he makes for others.
Beet wakes up at a time like 8 AM, greets everyone she passes by, and then proceeds to spend the day gathering items to craft and sell. When the night hits, she takes what’s left of her stock and hands it out to anyone who was willing to take it. She goes to sleep in an inn room at nighttime and that routine hasn’t changed much.
Lily spends her morning meditating, practicing her moves, and jogging around until she ends up likely taking leves from guilds in the nearby towns in order to battle against monsters and what not. At night time, she goes out and uses her hard earned gil to basically go on shopping sprees. Occasionally she’ll bring Beet along as well so they can evaluate items together.
Sage definitely wakes up later in the morning (Around 10 am) as a moon keeper, because she’s likely hunting in the night in order to catch people off guard when she believes and hears they’re up to no good. She almost sounds like a hero when its put like that. But really, she’s just better working at night for her adventure tasks then in the day.
Pepper is an even later sleeper, barely waking up until everyone else has already gotten ready which makes him impossible to get to go to any kind of early event. At night time he becomes a lot more active mostly because he’s practicing his thaumaturgy skills or finding monsters to practice fighting on with his sword. He usually then goes back to resting, whether that be in a city state, tent, or simply out in the wilderness alongside his chocobo.
Do you use a custom version of a FFXIV job with your OC/WoL? And if yes, why and where did you get inspiration for it?
I’d say on a technicality, but its mostly just custom skills I’ve added to some of my OCs. It’s also dependent on which verse I’m writing for.
Example: Beet in the NPC verse is just a basic conjurer while meanwhile in the Starlight verse she’s a Ninja using things like the shadow clone jutsu and Rasengan.
…As you can tell, I’ve been watching a bit of Naruto recently.
why is your oc still alive?
god keeps trying to kill him but in a looney tunes comedy bit he keeps surviving the numerous attempts alternatively the other two protags were so beloved by god she gave them multiple solids to let them live
