Notion isn’t getting me back on there since I found Ellipsus! That might be the best site for me since it’s free and allows for cross devices. Google docs used to do that but I never liked it, too clunky.

As I work through looking through my old files, I’m finding a lot of stuff I completely forgot I wrote fic adjacent stuff for. Generally I tend to write and complete on average more one shots in short fic format or vignettes. I’m also a prompter and idea generator, lately I’ve been trying to get into solo RP which explains why there’s so much floating dialogue. Most things here will be rated G to T if I ever finish up. I think the reason I mostly go with one shots is because I personally hate reading a good story that ends off on a cliffhanger. I’ve seen far too many of those on FF.net to count.

I think when I do monthly check ins I’ll start posting everything so my new deadline at the moment is Jan 31st. 

Can you believe it? The new year’s is here!

I’ve already written about it a bit on my neocities journal page and updated my goals list, but as for publishing, my major goal at the moment is finding a nice shiny new app or going back to an old one for the sake of my writing. I had such a nice notion dashboard I completely abandoned once notion started up it’s own machine learning thing and google docs are like the defacto “it’s reading your writing” thing so despite the fact that it doesn’t have cross compatibility in the slightest I’m switching back to obsidian.

This will probably work out better in the long run if I just have all my stuff on a single device and then figure out the issue of syncing up later on, you know? My issue is more of an issue of switching between so many different devices carrying so many concepts and juggling them all in a way that isn’t exactly the most useful sort of thing. Too busy looking at the leaves of the tree versus the actual damn tree.



Any WIPs in mind?
Not exactly. I had a few I’ve posted about here, but everything’s being put on the back burner as I go through this file dump of getting all my notes sorted through and then getting them off my computer so I can have them on my tablet because I’ve pretty much made this thing my default laptop at this point. Sorry, computer! Sorry, WIPs! Writing Winter’s all about me looking through everything I’ve made from middle to high school to college and figuring out what’s salvageable and what’s going straight into an ideas prompt page! I do want to write transformers fanfiction at some point but I don’t know the units of time and they scare me. Anything else? I made an OC page on neocities but it’s pretty barebones at the moment. I’m probably making my microblog thing on there a biweekly sort of thing instead of daily. I really want my priority this year to be actually creating things and having fun versus always saying “I’ll do it when I can” the stars will never align, I just gotta do it!

I had a dream about this. Script format because I woke up and started scripting it based on the parts from the dream. I will finish the second half later once I figure out if it’s going to be a Jem centric scene or continue to be just the transformers.

Would you look at that, actually looking through my notes app actually got me something that I had completed. I think I talked about this once in terms of wanting to write a fic that was an academic essay for pokemon. Might become a series, might not.

I’d like to say I’m being greatly productive with my writing currently, but what I’m doing is essentially being a herder listening to Crocodile Cacophony and lassoing the hell out of my snippets and plot bunnies and threads of various fandoms and original story drafts to fence the bunnies in instead of just having sentences floating out in the void causing them to multiply. I believe this is what my peers refer to as “locking in.”

Anyways, like I said on my dead cohost, I'm not doing NaNo.

I might do short story November but we're halfway through November and I haven't really done much.

Maybe like a daily drabble that's 200 words or something that's actually words and not just a phone note.

Novel November is like, 1000 words per day, but I don't want to think about the word count as much as I want to make something.
What I need to do is pick a prompt and just write something, even if it's a few sentences. Better than nothing.

Doubling down was probably my best idea. I really need to write out that 1.0 Adaption.
